Red Carpet Fashion

The Grammy Awards 2013

The biggest music event of year was held last in Los Angeles, where the red carpet was collectively calm and fashion disaster free for a change. Here is the Grammy 2013 roundup.

Pants in Place

Jeannie Mai looked suave in a metallic tailored blazer, teamed with white shirt, black skinny pants and gold necklace. TV presenter Rocsi Diaz took the plunge in a white v-neck jumpsuit with wide-leg pants. Kaley Cuoco challenged glamour rock in an embellished blazer by Amen, paired with a white tee and leather leggings. Janelle Monae kept to her androgynous style in a matador style tuxedo suit by Moschino. Beyonce pleasantly surprised me by not wearing a fancy gown but instead opted for a sophisticated black and white jumpsuit by Osman.

Feminine Frocks

Taylor Swift rarely puts a style foot out of place, the country singer looked stunning in a white pleated J.Mendel gown with sliver strap detail. Ukrainian export Mika Newton was winsome in a delicate white embellished gown by Aiisha. Australian songstress Kimbra made an extravagant style statement in a gold and ice blue tulle confection by Jaime Lee Major. Newcomer Kady Z also went white in cap-sleeved dress with sheer paneled bodice.

Red Alert

Skyler Grey picked out a glistening red gown by Armani. Natasha Bedingfield looked stunning in a sponge-print Emerson red dress with side cut-outs and metallic belt. My best dressed of the night, Rihanna was ravishing in a scarlet red Azzedine Alaia chiffon gown with sheer halter bodice. Britt Nicole wore a strapless crimson peplum frock with layered rows of fabric.

Cavalli Army

Carly Rae Jepson, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert were all dressed by Robert Cavalli in dark shaded and glamorous evening gowns.

Higher Hemlines

Tv presenter Carrie Keagan caught my eye with her dazzling pair of PVC colour-blocked Christian Louboutin sandals. She wore a bright yellow high-low hem dress. Karlie Kloss looked chic in a turquoise cut-out mini dress by Michael Kors. Faith Hill cropped her length in an attractive little black sheer sleeve dress by J.Mendel. Alexa Chung brought on the charm in a sweetly floral printed dress in lemon and cream by Red ValentinoAdele wore a playful floral embroidered dress by Valentino, along with printed shoes.

Green Card

Florence Welch went futuristic (or alienistic rather) in an iridescent bottle green Givenchy gown featuring self-shaded studded spikes on the bodice. Katy Perry wore an apple mint fitted long-sleeved dress by Gucci with ornate neck detailing. Solange Knowles made a splendid appearance in shimmering emerald green, her cap-sleeved gown is by Ralph & Russo. She added a pop of orange with studded Louboutin pumps.

Femme Fatale

Jennifer Lopez showed off her best leg in a one-shouldered Anthony Vaccarello gown with gold accessories and Tom Ford heels. Alicia Keys donned a low-neck cut-out gown by Azzedine Alaia. Kelly Rowland was daring in a black fishtail gown with sheer panelling by Georges Chakra. Model Chrissy Teigen picked a sassy sheer midriff dress with high split by Joy Ciocci.
